Northland Family Planning – Southfield

My experience with this clinic was good. Of course since this was my first experience, I was very nervous and apprehensive. However, the staff was very sweet and did everything in their power to make me feel comfortable & safe regarding my decision. One of the staff members even let me hug them at one point and gave me another big hug before I left. While the doctor didn’t come across as particularly warm or comforting, I understand that their role can be incredibly demanding, and they still remained professional throughout the process. I don’t hold that against them and I appreciate the care they provided. As far as the bad reviews, People need to understand that the office & medical staff are under a lot of stress and pressure at all times and it’s best to show them some grace. They are doing a great job with all things considered

This was an amazing experience for a traumatic situation. I came here specifically to see what the views were about, the views that ARE accurate, are the reviews that complimented the staff, the wait times and the compassion behind every employee and the professionalism behind there organization.I admit i was a bit nervous , which is why i chose NOT to be sedated. Procedures are fairly quick, 2-3 minutes depending on how far you are. I was only 7weeks. So the dilation of my cervix and the suction went fast. If you are going in thinking that there will be absolutely no discomfort then you are wrong! lol Cramps of some sort , will happen rather it reflects as pressure or light menstruation. For someone with Anxiety, being sedated cause more fear FOR ME, so i chose NOT to be sedated.The awesome MA , who was in the room through the process let me know exactly how close i was to completing the procedure. I held her hand for comfort, and talked my way through the procedure with a few laughs. I cried after completing the procedure , because i put some much fear in myself that i was pretty proud of myself to complete without sedation! The recovery room, was very calm and relaxing, with staff on standby consistently checking on you. 20 minutes of recovery , being released comes shortly after. my experience was amazing , staff are very knowledgeable and comforting.What i will recommend for places like these, you can never dictate emergencies or potential complications with other people during your time. Keep in mind many people have appointments, with the same protocols for every one. There is an ultrasound, vitals and or lab work performed , confirmation on knowledge of the procedure , payment etc. So before you complain about time spent here , be mindful of how staff understand each person situation is different. They take the necessary time for each and everyone.No i don’t plan on coming back for the same services lol because I’m going to proceed differently with birth control. BUT if i had to come back here , I’ll do it again the same way.To the staff, thank you so much for being here during a rough time and making it a visit full of comfort and understanding. To the doctor, you rock at what you do ! And very fast and efficient! Thank you for laughing with me during my procedure. To my special Ma , Shauntel Correct her spelling for me , (She has red hair) love you rocked as my advocate during the procedure. To my baby with the (short pixie , purple hair) please edit her name lol. You rocked at recovery and was very knowledgeable about possible health issues!Thank you to the whole Northland Family Practice! ❤️🫶🏽 You guys were amazing.

you can really tell everyone here loves their job and makes you feel super comfortable. I was really nervous going in but all the staff is super sweet and walks you through every part of any procedure. They’re super gentle , I barely felt anything during the actual surgery. Truly amazing people :)

This place and it's staff are horrible!!!! They lack compassion, respect and understanding. ASHLEY scheduled me for an appointment that I did not even qualify for. I didn't find out until 10 minutes into my appointment that I could not be seen. Not one person (the nurse, office manager or receptionist) apologized NOT ONCE! Per the office manager... "Well people make mistakes" I think this is a major "mistake" that I'm sure has been made a thousand times since Ashley was so sure and confident that she's doing her job the right way! Ashley "mistake" caused a huge inconvenience with my work schedule, sitter schedule and other obligations that I set. No one cared!

I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews. The wait was not that bad and I Literally just left here and the staff are very friendly and amazing . I was super nervous going in not knowing what to expect but everything was explained to me and all my questions and concerns were answered . Also Tiffany was so nice and kind I really appreciate that. Thank you guys so much for taking good care of me during something that was so hard for me to do.
