I'm horrified at the incompetence of the staff & specifically Dr. Amy Gunnells. I took my baby to the ER per urgent care's strong recommendation due to her extreme difficulty breathing and overall health. They tested her and found she was positive for RSV. Oxygen dipping to 92- anyone with a brain knows this is too low for anyone, especially a baby. They did absolutely NOTHING, said there is no treatment, and sent her home. They basically said unless she's blue, just wait it out. They also mixed up paperwork withWhen we finally got to see her pediatrician, he immediately prescribed steroid & Albuterol & said she should be admitted if that doesn't help. Fortunately, after administering, her lungs immediately opened up and she audibly and visually showed major improvement. This doctor and staff should be investigated.
My wife gave birth here 12/15/2024, just 2 days ago. Everyone has exceeded our expectations after hearing stories of issues in hospitals. They are genuine and caring and their jobs aren’t easy. My wife and I appreciated them immensely and felt very safe and supported in our decisions as new parents.
Had my second child here as I had such a great experience with my first.I ultimately had a very hard and traumatic birth experience this time, however the staff here are incredible and made me feel safe and secure. The care I received in the days after was awesome. I loved the whole care team and felt so supported by the doctors, nurses, and midwives.Dr. Griner was there for my first when I had a retained placenta and also performed an emergency c section for this birth. He is truly a wonderful doctor and he remembered myself and my husband from our first child. My midwife Bonnie came to see me after the birth to discuss it, it made me feel very seen. Especially since friends I know have had traumatic births at other hospitals, only to be ignored after until discharge.Thank you to the amazing L&D staff.
My wife gave birth to our second child on 12-23-24 at the Ephrata Wellspan Hospital. Great place! Thank you to the doctors and nurses! Especially to the nurse who quickly guided us through the confusing halls to the right place when we came rushing in, you were a God-send! Thank you, thank you, everyone who was involved!
0/5. This hospital is a disgrace to the community. WellSpan's poor reputation precedes them and it is 100 percent accurate. In the ER department the nurses don't care and the doctors care even less. The place is always dirty and the quality of care is what I would expect if I was overseas in a less fortunate country. I will only go to LGH from now on, not risking my life because of proximity.
