a year agoit is real bad experience here. i was waited 1hour. I forget to bring my infant milk upon requesting them if doctor can see him early but they didn’t bother. they keep telling doctor is coming but i waited 1 hour. my baby cried his lung out and we forced to leave without seeing the doctor. it is so unprofessional and unexpected. they did not value our emergency. #chkd #chkdworstexperience

2 years agoYou required me to drive from VB oceanfront to Port Norfolk to pick up forms, can’t under any circumstance be picked at any VB locations. All paper forms get issued at Port Norfolk. I called to verify your hours. Your recording states the office is closed from 12-1. I arrived in your lobby at 11:40 and the lunch sign is up. Now I sit for 1 hour and 20 minutes waiting for you to reopen. I absolutely hate you are the only game in town for pediatric care and it is a direct reflection on your patient service.

3 years agoBeyond unimpressed. Had a morning appointment scheduled for my 1 year old daughter. They switched to an afternoon appointment without checking with us first. When I called to reschedule because daughter will not be awake during the afternoon appointment (not by choice, the girl sleeps the afternoon away) they would not reschedule, they said they’d put us on a list that takes months to get an appointment. This appointment had been scheduled for 3 months out as it was. They don’t give a hoot about children’s actual health.

2 years agoHaven’t even had our appointment yet so can’t speak to the actual bedside manner of the providers. As someone who works in healthcare myself, I do understand that the healthcare experience begins from the very first patient encounter, which often is the phone call to schedule an appt, and the scheduling experience has been awful. I’ve called the derm office three times today and each call was met with a dull and discouraging tone. Each scheduler I spoke with did not seem compassionate or eager to assist. They were passive aggressive in their responses and seemed annoyed by my questions. If a parent is calling, it’s usually out of concern for their child, and if not met with an ounce of comfort, it only leaves a more anxious parent. This is very disappointing for a well-known children’s hospital. If the schedulers are/were having a bad day, I apologize and know that we don’t fully know what other people are dealing with. But we should still aim to speak to each other the way we’d want to be spoken to.

3 years agoEdit: Be VERY careful and read the clinical notes in your MyCHKD account from this office. Save yourself the trouble and go to Pariser Dermatology Specialists. This is my first negative review for a doctor - ever. I have waited to write this so that it is as impartial as I can be. The dermatologist was offensive. She did not have the capability to help my daughter who has a rare disorder and instead of saying it, she made excuses that relied on calling us poor and calling into question the diagnosis. Prior to that appointment, my daughter had been diagnosed from CHKD doctors as well as Cleveland Clinic doctors. She has since been diagnosed from Duke and will be going to the Mayo Clinic. You want to know how long it took the Duke Dermatologist to say Duke couldn’t help her? Within the first five minutes. He didn’t call us poor and he didn’t try and pretend she doesn’t have the rare disorder. He even called the Mayo Clinic to speed up her appointment.I filled out a questionnaire for the appointment and no one from CHKD contacted me. Don’t let these people push you around or treat you like you are inferior. They cannot handle difficult cases - medically or emotionally.
