My son spent 12 weeks in the wilderness at Blue Ridge and he came home a different person. This is an intense therapy program that forces your teen/young adult to face their problems in an open and welcoming setting. It encourages family communication and they have a huge family support system in place. I highly recommend Blue Ridge Wilderness and am looking forward to sending my son back as a mentor. He can't wait!

My wife and I sent my son to the wilderness camp. We loved the results and the teaching that my son was able to bring home and utilize. He's not perfect after returning home, but he has the ability to constructively face his demons. This therapy camp had such an impact on our family that my older son chose to work at the camp for 1 1/2 years as a councilor prior to entering into a Grad degree in Psychology. He also continues to work with students in an outpatient capacity at this time. I would say we thought the wilderness experience was expensive, but well worth the time and effort. It changed a young mans life for the better. Bob White

Our daughter's time in 2023 at Emerald Arrow (Blue Ridge's Young Adult Program) was a life-changing experience for her. It allowed her to reset her life and discover how strong and special she is. The staff is incredible and they support the family every step of the journey. The Parent's Workshop was a highlight for us and we learned how to communicate more effectively and discover much about ourselves and our relationship with our daughter. I know our daughter views her time in the wilderness as a truly transformative opportunity and one she will always remember. She is proud of all the challenges she overcame in the program and uses this knowledge as a reference as she faces her life as a young adult. There is constant communication with the staff and they are always available. I was impressed with the dedication and commitment everyone had in the program to the safety and well-being of the young adults.

Due to the hate that is associated to the troubled teen industry it’s understand if your a parent and are unsure if this is the right place for your child. Your kids will absolutely be safe here, and if understand the importance of using the tools in the program will thrive and come out a different person with more understanding of themselves.

BRTW was a life changing experience for myself and my son. The professional clinical therapist were amazing and played a huge part in the progress for us both. Although uncomfortable at times I learned that being vulnerable is not a bad thing. Life changing skills were learned and for myself are still used today. The therapist helped me to see things about myself and my son that I would have never changed or saw without their professional help. Although he would never tell me, my son has mentioned to others that BRTW saved his life. ALL of the staff from intake to discharge were VERY supportive and responsive. The opportunity to be a part of BRTW would have never happened without the director Danielle. I am forever grateful for BRTW despite the challenges since my son was discharged. A simple “thank you” will never be enough for BRTW. If you are considering BRTW for your child, think no more, your lives will be forever changed.
