My mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's, arrived at CHSLD Émilie-Gamelin about two months ago. I was very stressed at the idea of ​​her transfer to a CHSLD, especially since she had lived independently in a private seniors' residence (RPA). Unfortunately, her health deteriorated quickly, and I had to make the difficult decision to transfer her to a permanent care unit.Having never been through this situation before, I didn't really have a point of reference to assess the quality of care she was receiving. However, comparing today with what we had experienced in the private sector, I realize to what extent the Émilie-Gamelin Center stands out for the quality of its care and attention. While I thought that by paying high fees in the private sector, my mother would be treated with great care, I was surprised to see the enormous difference at the CHSLD Émilie-Gamelin.Where I would give a rating of 2 out of 5 to the private sector, I without hesitation give a 5 out of 5 to the CHSLD Émilie-Gamelin. All the speakers are attentive and attentive. My mother feels good, and I am really reassured. The staff is always smiling, courteous and caring. The attendants and nurses listen to the needs of each resident.A huge thank you to everyone who takes care of my mom at the Émilie-Gamelin Center, especially to the head nurse on the 3rd floor. You have all my gratitude.

Few auxiliary nurses and they are entrusted with more than 60 patients sometimes on 2 floors. Some nurses. and beneficiary attendants do not help their colleagues, drag their feet, arrive late and or leave early. In short, a lot of improvement to be made.

I give this center two stars because we have management that is too rigid towards its employees and especially immigrants.
