**updated to 1 star, read why below**I apparently needed more root canals and 2 new crowns for a couple of molars because one of the ones they placed from 2 years ago broke and the other popped off when I was using a water flosser.I did some research into crowns, also asked a friend whose parents are dentist, and discovered that metal crowns may be more durable than porcelain, so I decided that's what I want to go with, especially since one of them broke, a more durable material would be great.During the temporary crown appointment, I mentioned multiple times that I don't want porcelain. They said they can do full porcelain or full metal, but not porcelain fused to metal. I said full metal would be great. She said she'd make a note to the lab.2 weeks later, I get a call that my crowns are in. I asked what material they are and they said that the lab could do either full porcelain or full metal, so they went with full porcelain. I'm very confused because I thought I made it clear that I wanted metal? I told them this and they said "but full metal isn't pretty." But its my molars so I dont really care how they look, I care more about the durability, you wouldnt even be able to see them if i smiled, no biggie. So they called the lab back to switch them out. (Usually I wouldn't care so much but I am spending 2k out of pocket since my insurance only covers crowns every 5 years and they only lasted 2.)2 more weeks passed, got the call they got my metal crowns in and I can get them placed. So I went in for the appt, which was today, and sat down and she shows me that they got porcelain fused to metal crowns.. okay I'm confused because I said full metal and they specifically said twice that they cant to porcelain fused to metal, but hey at least there's metal so I'll work with it. The only unfortunate thing is ptm costs $150 more so I had to pay more out of pocket.(I'm assuming ptm costs more than metal)During the appt, kristine had to shave down the crowns so my bite would align which is fine, but she made the comment "we wouldn't have to shave them down if you went with full porcelain but you insisted we do porcelain fused to metal instead" which I actually insisted metal just because it's more durable but ok..All in all, I'm left very confused about the whole experience and still dont quite understand. I feel like I really wasn't heard at all.. Spent $2,000 out of pocket and it was a huge hassle to get what I asked for, actually I still didn't even get exactly what I asked for in the end but it's fine because I don't want to wait another 2-3 weeks to get new crowns since it's already been over a month and I don't want to run the risk of needing more root canals -----------------‐--------------- *UPDATE*After the whole situation I stated above, and asking for my itemized bill multiple times over the course of a month, it finally got sent over. I do feel that I was lead to believe that the $150 payment for the updated crowns was because the new material costed more. Come to find out, it was a Lab Fee for changing the material of my crown, even though Kristine ordered the wrong material. I'm very confused why their mistake had to come out of my pocket, and it would have been more ethical if they would have taken care of that fee considering it was FOR THEIR MISTAKE.After going through all of this, I went to a new dentist for a cleaning and new patient exam, upon taking x rays it was discovered the crowns that Kristine did, did not fit at all, so I had to get them redone again (3rd time in less than 3 years) at the new dentist.

The best dental experience I have ever had. I am 73! I'd been with my previous dentist for 40 years until he retired and I never knew of the newest advancements. The dental hygienist was calming and so gentle I almost fell asleep. Dr. Marshall uses the latest dental procedures and technology that I didn't even know existed. I highly recommend her and I know you will be as pleased as I am!

My wife and I just had an excellent and relaxed first time visit to the dental office of Dr Marshall. Her staff at the front desk and the dental technicians were professional and very attentive to our teeth cleaning needs. We were very pleased to find out that Dr Marshall uses digital x-ray to perform dental examination & diagnosis. We look forward to using Dr Marshall and her staff in the future for our continuing dental health. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr Marshall for your dental needs too.
