I am almost 3 years, three months sober. It all started in Ahoskie went through the detox center three times finally got it forever. Grateful for the gift I have received. Of course it took some work on my end also but that’s life. Just a thank you to the husky staff.

The actual psychiatrist Dr. Wesson is amazing. She always helps and does what she can. She's a super nice lady. But the front desk is HORRIBLE. I'm considering driving an hour away to a different office just because of them. They don't relay any of the messages for the doctor. I called 4 days in a row trying to reach Dr Wesson with no luck. Of course when I saw her face to face, she didn't know about any of the messages. The receptionists are so rude to patients. They act like they run the place, trying to make decisions for the doctor. I'm appalled that they are allowed to continue to work there. I've NEVER been treated so poorly by front desk staff. They're going to lose alot of patients due to them.

I'd like to do zero stars but can't post without selecting 1 Absolutely Abhorrent. My brother in law checked in of his own volition seeking help with his intense down in mental health. He had to demand discharge papers after only one night and wasted intake fee and a lot of gas that he couldn't afford just to leave much worse than he was when he arrived rather than getting help he was scraping funds for. They withheld his prescribed regular medications (anti depressants! Cant have those at a help center! Especially when youre already in crisis and they're on file) sending him into withdrawal. Not allowing him to shower or provide proper hydration or food outside of specific hours in which he would be too nauseous to eat due to a combination of pain from untreated physical conditions and being suddenly taken off his daily medication. Even having lost food he brought with him upon intake being told he couldn't take his sandwich in with him and to 'leave it in the kitchen nobody will take it' to be told within minutes someone ate it and that a nurse would replace it obviously this wasn't done. Who cares about replacing a sandwich at a place that won't provide basic care. He felt the need to discharge asap because of a genuine fear he may die or need emergency help if he had to stay another night. There are even more greviences which is horrifying for such a short time here but the main one standing out to me is the active lack of treatment he received and how he was left worse than better in any capacity. I'm grateful to have not had to experience this first hand. It seems clear from his and several others experiences this place needs some big changes

There are some very special people working there. Keven and Karen amung all the other staff are truly the greatest people to meet. A little respect going in the door get you a long ways. I've been sober 3 years and owe it all to very many people god put in my journey starting here. I miss y'all and would love to come see y'all. Thank you for every blessed day I have. Walk in the door knowing you need help and they will be there.

This is a re edit of my original review. This place helped me out alot in the past but recently it has gone majorly downhill. The problems I have aren't the doctors or even the nurses it's the receptionist ladies at the front desk whom are disrespectful and one even had an attitude with me just because I tried to reschedule an appointment. I also tried calling multiple times and no one answered the phone. They also can't keep any therapists as many I've been assigned to have straight up left which has happened THREE times. If you are seeking help or kindness look elsewhere. I do not recommend going to this facility you are better off finding somewhere who actually wants to help you.
