While it’s convenient having a VA hospital 25-30 minutes away, the inability to contact your primary care team, the lack of empathy, and short staffing makes it nearly not worth the time. I have had service related pain for 6 months, and was seen and actually felt cared for more by the main campus in Charleston more than any of my visits with the medical team at Beaufort. Beaufort’s only saving grace is the mental health professionals like Dr. Court and Dr. Mundee. Those two women saved my life, but the physical care team needs work. You are rushed in and out, it feels like the doctors don’t listen to you and seem to review any medical records you provide from urgent care you have been given or recommendations from other doctors. Other than mental health, I will not be returning to this clinic. Make the drive, to Charleston. If you can’t there are veteran services like the DAV that will be able to provide assistance with transportation.

It’s not the doctors or the staff . It’s the huge influx of veterans and the short staff . I prefer to see my primary care as I always try to use the VA . But as of late they’re 6 months out on appointments and I was recently told to go else where if I could in so many words . The VA needs to invest in the Beaufort , bluffton ridgeland area. To many veterans have moved here and it’s impossible to take care of all of them in a corner of an old run down naval hospital. 6 years ago I could have walked in and been seen . Or atleast called and got a same day or next day appointment . Now you can’t call them directly. It goes straight to Charleston. If you try to Schedule it’s months out . It’s embarrassing. And I feel like the current staff get treated horribly. My primary cares attitude has changed over the years and doc seems rushed even if I get an appointment. Never used to be that way. Again I don’t blame the staff . There are rumors of a new VA going to be built in Beaufort bluffton area . MAKE IT A REALITY.

In my experience with VA's clinics from NY to FL the waits times are typically terrible. At this location it is not the case. I am usually in and out fairly quickly and the staff is always polite and answers any question asked. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Zero. These people “sincerely” don’t care. The doctors don’t care, they’re just biding their time until retirement. The staff absolutely doesn’t care which is perfectly conveyed by their negative attitude. Just try calling them. These “doctors” (wish I could see their resume and grades from medical school), and rude staff. What the hell is going on with staff and management? Ultimately, management is to blame for the failure of this place

Worst VA out there. The doctors and nurses don’t look out for anyone. As well as there not being enough time for you to get your medical concerns taken care of where they just tell you to make another appointment which takes weeks.I was literally told I can’t bring up further concerns due to not enough time even though my appt was 30min late. This is why so many veterans result in suicidal actions due to not getting the proper help from this corrupt health care system and facility.
