This review will seem like its almost too good to be true, but it is 100% the experience I had with Nicole and Dr. Widen. From the first inquiry of my very intense dental needs they supplied me with more information than the previous dentist I had inquired with. They also called me after hours to go over all my questions. My appointments were set and what was suppose to be 5-6 appointments turned out to be 2 because of the scanner her got which was an unexpected bonus! From the very moment I walked into the office I felt like I was with family. My entire life I have feared the dentist, this day was different! Not only did we start my dental process but my girlfriend who drove me to my appointment had a dental issue she asked Dr. Widen about and he plopped her in the next room and fixed her issue! What dentist does that!? Second and more intense visit with MANY extractions to begin my implants the entire way there I was stressed, walked into the office and again felt so at home and amongst family. You are probably thinking it can't get better but it does! The next few days were recovery and getting use to the new implants and having very minimal pain (surprised by that) Dr. Widen called me personally each day after my procedure to check on me! Yes there are MANY dentist that do these kinds of procedures but I can guarantee you will NOT get the personalized one on one care PLUS the great new smile like you will with Dr. Widen. You will not regret choosing him AND Nicole!

I came to Dr. Widen for TMJ help after having a horrific experience with an orthodontist's TMJ treatment. When I came to Dr. Widen my quality of life was very low due to TMJ. Dr. Widen is patient, thorough in his work, and listens to your feedback. He has a 1-1 approach, the appointment never feels rushed, and he will make time for you if something comes up. I've dealt with TMJ for years. After trying medications, other treatments, and consulting other dentists for 2nd opinions, Dr. Widen came out on top as the most measured and scientific in his approach. After a month of visiting Dr. Widen I finally feel confident I am on the right track and my quality of life has immensely improved; the difference is truly incredible. I only wish I had stepped into this office sooner to get help with my TMJ. If you are suffering from TMJ and are looking for a light at the end of that dark tunnel, call Dr. Widen.

After a car accident left me with a dislocated jaw joint at the age of 26, Dr. Widen gave me my life back. For several months before I went to him, I was in constant pain, could barely open my mouth, and could not eat solid food. I couldn’t sleep through the night because of the pain. I was exhausted, worried, and avoided social situations because I couldn’t eat and it was difficult and painful to talk.My father-in-law is a dentist in another state, and was searching for someone in Chicago who could help me out. He called Dr. Widen (who answered even though he was on vacation), and he offered to see me as soon as possible. After that first consultation, I knew I was in good hands. My unusual situation required a couple of years of regular appointments, but the very patient Dr. Widen brought me back to normal, understanding the emotional aspects that accompanied the physical pain throughout the process.The level of care Dr. Widen provides is unmatched. He is precise, measured, and exact in his work. Dr. Widen uses advanced techniques and cutting-edge equipment to ensure his adjustments are accurate. He also takes the time to explain everything he is doing, using drawings, diagrams, photos, baseball or movie analogies…anything that will help you understand, which I personally appreciate very much. He has a lot of fun doing this, so you can tell that he loves his work and truly cares that his patients feel comfortable. And in my case at least, the level of patience he displays on top of all of this is incredible. I was very worried throughout my recovery and tend to ask a lot of questions, but he hung in there with me even during some moments when I’m sure anyone else would have wanted to throw me out the window. Also, Dr. Widen only books one patient at a time, so you have his undivided attention and never feel rushed. It is hard to find someone who is both so highly skilled/knowledgeable and caring/conversational, and I am very glad I did.The cost of Dr. Widen’s treatments is not inexpensive, but he is extremely fair and up front regarding his pricing so you’ll know exactly what to expect and why. He will not jack you around, there are no hidden fees, surprise extra costs, or strange things in the bill. Actually, with how long my treatment took, at some point I expected him to charge me more but he never did. And again, by restoring my jaw he also restored my quality of life, so to me that is worth the cost a thousand times over. I continue to see Dr. Widen for my routine cleanings and my husband does now too. It is worth every penny for the thorough exams, one-on-one attention, and peace of mind he provides.I am so grateful for Dr. Widen and I think you’ll appreciate his one-of-a-kind skill and service as well. He is very accommodating in scheduling and I have never had a long wait for an appointment. Give him a call!

Dr. Widen was extremely nice and personable. I had some pain regarding my TMJ disorder and he suggested trying a tens unit, which got rid of 90% of the pain. I highly recommend his services, especially if you suffer from TMJ disorder (which seems to be a topic most dentists aren't too knowledgable about).
