I believe that Dr. Cohn is a professional, knowledgeable doctor. But poor time management. Let me describe it: I was scheduled for an appointment at 10:30am. Apparently I was the first patient. That day I spent 2 hours to get to his office (coming from Sacramento). I arrived at the location at 10am. And, surprise...his office was closed. Right away checked open hours, it stated that they should be open from 8am. At 10:15 someone from inside opened the door. 10:30 an assistant arrived from some coffee shop with coffee for herself and for the receptionist. The doctor was not there yet at all. Dr. Cohn arrived at the office at 11:05 am. Why to schedule anyone for the time when you are not able to come?

Zero Stars!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR. My son was seen in early Jan 2024 on an Army referral and diagnosed. In order for him to be seen by our insurance we need Dr Cohns office to fax a referral. It's now Feb 16th, I have called leaving 10+ voice-mails and sent 3 email through their website and have yet to receive any kind of response/call back. We live in Modesto, or I would have gone to the office in person at this point. UPDATE: About a week or so after posting this review I received a phone call from Dr. Cohn himself personally, he called saying he saw my review and to apologize then he explained what had been going on. He explained his phone system went haywire and they had no idea they haven't been receiving all of their calls & voice-mails. He had already been working with his IT team, which still haven't been able to repair phone system. So, he ended up getting a new IT company to put in an entire new internet phone system and parts are on back order during our conversation. It was a case of failing technology and bad luck. Dr. Cohn also took the time to explain my son's diagnosis and assist with a referral and what our next steps should be. We spoke for about 30 minutes and he was very polite and professional. If we lived closer to him, we would have tried to continue to go to him for my sons eye condition & care.

Unfortunately I have decided to leave the care of Dr. Cohn. He was my doctor for years and I have nothing but great things to say about his care. However, it is impossible to get in to see him. I had left 4 messages trying to get rescheduled after the office cancelled my appointment. I sent a message on the on line portal and still nothing. I’ve wasted over an hour in the office for an appointment today and I have now requested my file to go to a new doctor. That request is taking another 20 minutes. I don’t want to leave without it because a new doctor’s office won’t be able to get through to retrieve the information. While I was there two other patients were complaining about the same issues. I hope this all gets resolved at some point. Dr. Cohn is too good a doctor for his business to fail.

Horrible Experience. I went in for a standard eye exam. The doctor came in late which is understandable as there are many patients he has to see during the day. Following a brief examination, I was informed the doctor would return shortly, only to be left waiting in the exam room for over an hour without any updates on the delay. While I recognize emergencies can arise, clearer communication regarding the delay would have been appreciated. After the exam was over I was instructed to call in for my contact prescription. I called the office numerous times (8 times) with no answer. I also emailed on two separate occasions seeing that the office claimed the phone lines were "down." This prolonged lack of communication is unfathomable considering my appointment was in November. In total, my visit spanned over two hours, yet the essential service of receiving my contact prescription remains unresolved. This is unacceptable. What doctor's office does not get back to their patients? Never going back here.

Dr. Cohn is great! I have never had a bad interaction with the doctor, and my doctor at the practice, Dr. Tran is also amazing. I love seeing them. However, they are both completely let down and failed by their front desk staff. Getting in contact with the office or hearing back from them is impossible. While trying to deal with them, and either schedule and appointment or follow up on dealings with insurance, the staff at the front desk is nigh on impossible to deal with. I have called my insurance to follow-up on my end, to make sure I'm not in the wrong, and my insurance reports all clear on their end, and that they haven't heard from the office either. I have worked front desk in a doctor's office. It's not an easy job, and I have empathy for what they deal with on a day to day basis. But the core of the job is communication and trust, and as a patient, I do not feel that I can trust them, nor do I feel trust from them--and I definitely feel little to no empathy from them. They have been insulting, and rude; and completely unhelpful.I didn't want to say anything; but when i saw that recent reviews over the past few months have had the same issues, I decided I also needed to post my experience. It's validating to know that I'm not alone.
