Every person I’ve interacted with at this office has been super kind, very knowledgeable about their role & extremely patient-focused! I’m always impressed by Dr. Coats’ data-based insights, attention to details & genuine care that I feel better. Maddie, Jenny & Valerie are all so terrific at their job, they actually make some visits fun! Although I’m still in process, I couldn’t wait to comment as my TMJ pain from over 40 yrs. is already subsiding.

At twenty-eight, I suffer from debilitating pain due to TMJ, a tongue-tie, and lip-ties—conditions I didn't know existed until a few months ago. One of the first steps in my treatment was addressing the many lip-ties I’ve had. The TMJ Plus Wellness Center now uses a new tool, a CO2 laser, during this procedure. This allows patients to heal more quickly, without the need for stitches, which was an immense relief for me. Once the area was numb, the procedure itself lasted only about fifteen minutes, and I didn’t experience any pain. I was stunned at how quickly I began healing in the days that followed. The post-op instructions are simple, and the myofunctional therapy exercises required can be done anywhere.With the severe pain I face daily, I was concerned I might not experience any relief from the removal of my lip-ties. But for the first time in my life, I can smile, laugh, and speak with ease. My mouth and chin feel freer, the tightness in my shoulders has lessened, and the nerve pain around my lips has significantly improved. This has given me a new sense of confidence that I’ve always felt was lacking.One example: A couple of weeks after the procedure, I attended a wedding full of people I did not know. Because I could smile, laugh, and engage in conversation without feeling uncomfortable, I felt more confident than I ever had before—even with the TMJ pain I was experiencing in the moment. I haven’t felt more like myself in a long time, and the experience overwhelmed me with gratitude and awe.It can be scary and disheartening to accept that healing may involve enduring more pain, especially when the path to recovery isn't a quick fix. Dr. Coats and her staff are a true source of comfort, and they are an absolute *joy* to be around. They make me feel seen, heard, and supported throughout the process. They genuinely care about my overall comfort, both in and out of the clinic. The office staff is warm, kind, patient, and never makes me feel like I'm asking them too many questions. I’ve never encountered a more professional medical team—and I’ve worked with many since I was a teenager. I am an RN. I found Dr. Coats and TMJ Plus Wellness through a dentist friend of mine. I was interested in getting a dental appliance for sleep apnea. The mouth appliance that I wear at night has been incredible. It’s comfortable and I am sleeping well. TMJ Plus scheduled a follow up as well so I can get it adjusted if needed after a few weeks of sleeping with it. Dr Coats also recommend I get a bump removed from the inside of my cheek which was caused from me constantly bitting it. She used a laser and it was quick and painless. Literally it took about 5 minutes and the healing was easy. No downtime and no pain. I had a little white spot on the inside of my cheek for about a week and it slowly got smaller and now it’s just a smooth normal cheek lining. I highly recommend TMJ Plus Wellness for all your dental and jaw needs.

Loved the care I received at TMJ Plus. Dr. Coats and her staff were kind and gracious. When I first started treatment, the pain in my jaw was debilitating at times. Now, my TMJ pain is gone and my teeth are straight. It wasn’t always the easiest, but I am so glad I followed Dr. Coats’s plan. If you’re having TMJ problems, this is a great place. Totally recommend.

Great experience! Had a wisdom tooth extracted & almost no pain to do it. The whole staff makes you feel comfortable, brought blankets & pillow. Look forward to working with them!
