Parkview Nursing Centre

My mother was a resident here for a year and received excellent care the entire time. When she passed, we were not rushed and staff was very compassionate. Its an older and smaller home but residents receive wonderful care, and have daily things they can do, eg.bingo. Kristen was particularly excellent to deal with. My family member is a resident and while this building is old, with the exception of the odd staff member that rushes in and out of the room, the care given is exceptional. You can see the staff cares about the residents . Daily activities, good healthy meals plus snacks daily are consistent. 4 star is because of elevator frustration , it seems 1 is always not working. If you have a family member going into a nursing home, I would highly recommend Parkview. Its small and extremely well run by people that care.

Did a tour. Frightening place to visit. Has the aura of a 1950s Soviet era asylum. Needs to be completely redone. I'm sure there are some good points. The dining area looked okay. And the shower room was being cleaned, but the rooms were horrific, and staff seemed disinterested and doing their own thing.

I do not where to start, this place is absolutely amazing, my dad spent almost 7 years at this nursing home. The staff (who most of them have been there for years) are wonderful. I visited my dad every week and during my visits he was always clean and well taken care of, they all treat you as family. The place might be a little old but don't let that fool you. Highly recommend Parkview Nursing Centre if you are considering a long term care home for your loved one.

PSWs and nurses need to slow down and listen to their residents. Otherwise this is a good home. Residents pay to live the rest of their life here and staff need to learn some patience and slow down with them. Many have hearing problems and cant hear well, particularly through a mask. Director of Care may need to update staff and remind them, residents are vulnerable and NOT there by choice so take an extra 5 minutes helping them when asked .
