8 months agoJust to think I previously rated this place 5 stars!!! I have been waiting for them to pivot after the recent staff change. I don't even think I can return here next month and will need to find a new practice before my next appt. I was a patient here for almost 7 years, the office used to be crowded over there next to the mall but the service and level of care was always top tier. James Hill was the best. Now he has left, I have seen 4 different practitioners, the front desk is occupied by an computer with rotating ppl coming on the screen. It would seem efficient except for when I'm waiting 20 min. For a bathroom key. Or the EXTREMELY rude virtual assistant ELIZABETH who shut her screen off while I was talking lol it was like the equivalent of someone hanging up on you because you called their job and they didn't want to work that day. Or how ALL staff is in the back of office and even when I'm yelling' can someone bring me bathroom key, no one is coming to the front. Then they have the audacity to have a sign that say please don't knock on the door. The 2nd virtual assistant told me they couldn't help me and would call someone out. When I called the billing department the lady adamantly told me I had to pay a $50 copay eventhough I knew for a fact I didn't owe any copay due to my plan. Finally a young lady came out and beckoned someone to find the bathroom key and figured out what was really going on with my patient account. (Wasnt a copay) then she scurried away behind the door yet to be seen again. I really wished things would've smoothed out by now. When James left I knew it would be a difficult transition but figured they would remain professional and I would continue our relationship. Sitting in an empty waiting room 1 hour and 15 mins after my scheduled appointment time, they must have decided to take an early lunch. Looking around one last time for the nostalgia, and realizing the waiting room is dingy and dusty everywhere. The owner should demand the building owner cleans the carpet at least. Surely they thought they would save some bucks and cut down on employees with this virtual assistant but I know they must be losing cause the whole setup is non functional for real life situations. Or the staff Is getting over on the owner by hiding out in the back not being attentive to patients/clients. Either way something is definitely Awry at this Choice Pain Location, and I won't be sticking around to subject myself to further mistreatment and I suggest you steer clear f4om this disappointment as well

3 months agoWhere you come from can be good and bad. At every place this group comes from in the healthcare industry they bring down with careless approach to medicine and nursing. Every facility they work in is an issue. Thru are falsify records or not providing decent care. This place does not answer phones, except in Gaithersburg , nurse practitioner threatened to cancel appointment if I did not come in early and was concerned zI was not taking enough pills for pain but did not counsel on a reduction of narcotics. When I asked her to switch providers she refused to put in chart and I later found out she did not put in prescription because I stated I wanted another provider. I had to report them for refusing to give me my medical records. Doctor was contacted, both ignored it. Doctor that works inside Medstar facility has a complaint against him by the DC Medical Board for not adhering to standards of a physician. It’s on Google and it’s published to public. There’s to doctors, so you can see which one has the finding or complaint. Stay away from this practice. If you are dependent on ……, you may be persuaded to write a review but there’s is no way they are accurate. Nurse practitioner sent out an assistant to listen to receptionist and or gd wanted to listen because they will pool together for any deception. It’s my suspicion they came to Maryland because they are less regulated. But that’s all about to end with Maryland Health Department under wrath.

a month agoI previously thought they cared and gave great customer service. The new staff and supervisors are HORRIBLE. They don't care about the patients needs. I will not be returning EVER.

6 months agoThis how they treat patients... Make you miss work for THEIR convenience. Don't send in your meds CONSTANTLY. Hang up on you MULTIPLE TIMES! Then make you wait on hold for THEM for at least 30 minutes! It's about their convenience not the convenience or needs of the patient!!!! I would be FIRED if I treated my patients like this!!!!!!! How are they still an operating practice? I think my next call will be to the board. Their providers are too busy trying to flirt than to do their jobs!Since James left I don't know what happened to this place! Twice they were supposed to send in my meds and twice it never happened! I get called, told to leave my job as a nurse early, make arrangements, and they don't follow through on their job! This is horrible! I would never treat my own patients like this can't believe they do theirs like this.James Hill helped me get my life back! I'm so happy to have found him and this clinic. Everyone here has been AMAZING! The staff is so friendly and so helpful. This is what you want in a pain clinic. Heck this is what you want in an office PERIOD! I cannot recommend them enough. I work in orthopedics and I will definitely be sending my own patients here!!!

a year agoSo glad they have new staff here, once the front desk under Rochelle left it became a circus in both back and front office. I thought that I was given a thorough exam until the current staff took over a few months ago, the NA that I saw was a guy I do not recall his name but that was the most thorough, thoughtful and professional exam I've ever experienced since being in ANY pain management office and the LPN Shirley Frimprong is totally the best she actually listens does not try to force medication on you and take your concerns/feelings into consideration when coming up with a plan that meets your individual needs. I can only pray that whomever will be filling in for her while she's on maternity leave is as attentive and caring as she. Wishing her a smooth/safe delivery and a healthy bundle of joy.
