2 weeks agoHIGHLY recommend Maternal Resources. Although we didn’t start off with them at the beginning of my pregnancy, I’m so glad we switched and delivered with them.We started our pregnancy journey at Women’s Health on Grove Street because it was closer to our apartment and they were in-network with my insurance. We were seen by different doctors/midwives every visit. You also have to make a separate appointment for the sonograms which is in the same building. When we had the sonogram, they didn’t explain everything they were seeing. So when I read their findings on the visit summary afterwards, as first time parents, my anxiety level shot up and I cried at home because I couldn’t get an explanation until the next doctor’s visit. We felt like there was no personalized care from the doctors… just quickly in and out, and onto the next. After every visit, I felt uneasy and anxious.Maternal resources was out of network, but since I met all of my in-network deductible, the addition we had to pay to meet our out of network deductible wasn’t too bad. I am SO happy we switched. I cannot recommend them enough. Our first visit was in Hoboken but we mostly went to the Jersey City office. Here, you Immediately get a sonogram before seeing the doctor at every visit. Compared to other places where you need a separate sonogram appointment, it really helps ease your anxiety seeing the baby each time. The technicians are so friendly and are happy to explain what they are seeing. Throughout your visits, you get to meet the different doctors and midwives. Even though you might see a different person than the last visit, the visits felt highly personalized. Everything was explained well and we left every visit feeling good and excited, not anxious.Since it was my first baby, she passed the 40 week mark. We decided to be induced before we got to 41 weeks. Dr. Resnikoff delivered us and her kind and positive energy made the delivery as pleasant as can be. All the doctors are great, but Dr. Resnikoff is my favorite

2 months agoMy wife and I utilized Maternal Resources for our first-born son. They were exceptional across the entire journey and provided great support to both the wife and myself for which we're grateful. They emphasize positive living in terms of health, diet, and other pregnancy decisions. During the stay at the hospital, they were attentive and supportive to provide a successful birthing experience. Would highly recommend to others in Jersey City.

4 months agoI received the best healthcare experience of my life having Maternal Resources as my practitioner during my pregnancy. I had gone through IVF and was high risk, and they were able to work with me to get me a discount so I could afford the out-of-pocket cost due to my insurance being out of network. I consider it a great investment in the health of me and my daughter, and I can't imagine having gone anywhere else. All the staff were so friendly, warm, helpful, and kind throughout the whole process. The doctors were incredible, and funny! (an unnecessary but awesome bonus) It was also very comforting to have a personal relationship with the doctor who performed my C-section. I feel like that is a privilege not everyone gets, but I wish they did. If you can make it work, go to this practice for your pregnancy.

6 months agoI am so grateful to Maternal Resources, and particularly Dr. Joel, for my three healthy boys (one singleton and one twin delivery!). I can't imagine a better prenatal care, labor & delivery experience. This practice combines the best of a holistic, patient-centered approach with top-notch Maternal/Fetal medicine and Obstetrics care. Aside from the world-class team of providers, a major perk is the ability to complete all visits, inclusive of specialty testing and scans, on-site with zero trips to the hospital required (until delivery!). I feel very fortunate to have been able to receive care here during both of my pregnancies, and recommend Maternal Resources wholeheartedly and without reservation to anyone seeking an empowered birth experience and outstanding medical care.

3 months agoI transferred from an OB/GYN in the city in 16th week of my first time pregnancy, looking for a holistic, nonintervention, patient-driven approach to my pregnancy. I transferred to MR because of their high vaginal delivery rate as compared to every other place in the area (and that’s even WITH the high risk pregnancies they routinely handle). I had a super healthy and active pregnancy, and I genuinely hate the US medical system so I was a highly skeptical, difficult patient who questioned every bit of doctor advice I got, even in this office. Even with my skepticism loud and clear (and annoying!), everyone I ever interacted with at MR made me feel like I was listened to and my choices mattered. The front desk was always ready to respond to my lengthy disability documentation requests and accommodate if I needed to speak to the doctor. I LOVED my ultrasound tech Peninah who made my day with her warm smile and light conversation during every ultrasound. She felt like my family every time she looked at my baby. The doctors were also great (special shoutout to midwife Amanda for her amazing listening skills and Dr Resnikoff who’s the absolute best, lighthearted, caring OB I ever interacted with). The star of the office is, of course, Dr. Abdelhak. He’s a rare legend in obstetrics these days. Towards the end of my pregnancy I had some complications which in every other practice would’ve sent me straight to C-section. Not here, thanks to Dr. A. He evaluated me holistically, believed in my body and n my baby and in the end, delivered a very healthy baby :) He has a very straightforward, no bullshit, human attitude with a dry sense of humor that might rub some people the wrong way. I LOVED it though! :) Hands down best care I have ever received and worth every penny. I hope they never close their doors (no retirement for you, Dr A!).
