Planned Parenthood – Long Beach Health Center

I had a wonderful experience at this facility. I booked an early morning time slot via the online booking link and only had to wait about 15 min past my selected time.I understand the negative reviews regarding wait times, but it’s Planned Parenthood… everyone knows that securing an appointment does not mean you’ll be seen immediately at the requested time. It just means you’re secured for that day. Nonetheless, if you’re pressed for time, I would recommend requesting an early time and getting there as early as possible.The staff at all levels were extremely warm, helpful, informative, and made me feel heard and safe at all times. I went in to inquire about birth control options and felt every questions was answered fully and competently. I also was screened for STDs and it was another seamless process / experience for me. The facility itself was very clean and the environment was welcoming.I would highly recommend this facility to anyone and feel as though the staff / nurses / doctors / other medical personnel truly care about their patients.

It’s fine if you can get in when there’s no one else there but making an appointment does not make a difference. It’s still first come first serve. I was waiting over an hour to be seen when I made an appointment. Make sure you plan ahead if you come here. They’re also inconsistent with copayments. Sometimes there is one sometimes there isn’t. The staff is great tho just the wait time kinda sucks

SITUATION: Inappropriate disclosure of information; slow response of "insurance team" to front desk.BACKGROUND: Date of Visit: July 8, 2024 APPT TIME: 1305I booked an appointment with Planned Parenthood located at 2690 Pacific Ave Suite 370, Long Beach 90806. I arrived 15 minutes earlier than scheduled and signed all the required paperwork.After completion and returning paperwork, the receptionist tells me that the appointment was to be an hour and a half wait.My friend and I returned to our seats at the reception to patiently wait.45 min into the appointment, we noticed patients without appointments being seen sooner than we did.I came up to the same receptionist who had previously helped us. To which she lied stating that she attempted to call me but couldn't get a hold of me or find me. I was sitting 3ft away from her window nor did I get a phone call.In concern to her possibly calling the wrong number, I asked what phone number did she call. She then stated that she did not attempt to call me cellphone but tried to call out to us but she "couldn't find you anywhere". Again, I sat directly in front of her window.She continued to explain that she wanted to let us know that she did not hear back from my insurance. To help expedite the situation, I asked what number did she attempt to call. She told me that she didn't know as there was an insurance team that handles the verification.At 1358, she calls my name up to the window and tells me that my copayment was to be $175.There absolutely was no way that my insurance copay was that much. I sat back down and thought about it and decided to try the health center next to the thereafter store "Out of the Closet" that provided free testing at an immensely clean environement(which is where I'm completing this review).

Trust the reviews i regret wasting my time; I was rushed home while still unstable and in extreme pain, with threats to call the ER rather than inform me my options and situation.

I set an early morning appointment on a Saturday and was in and out within an hour. Pretty typical for a doctor’s office. Employees were efficient and clear in answering all my questions, and the doctor who came in to speak with me was so kind. Don’t let negative reviews deter you from coming here for the help you need.
