a month agoShoutout and kudos to Meaford Hospital employees in the day surgery unit. I was there for a routine procedure, yesterday. Everyone was kind, caring, professional and attentive. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, despite the unit being full. We are so lucky to have this wonderful little gem in town. Nurse, Ashley, had only worked there for 3 days and was excellent! Let's take a moment to appreciate our health care workers. This is not an easy job! đź’ś

a month agoDrove from Toronto to this hospital to see Dr. G. Costa for knee surgery… absolutely worth it. He is the kindest, most knowledgeable and down to Earth physician I have ever seen. I am thankful every day I get to walk that he has been my surgeon. I have nothing but the best of things to say about the care I received from this physician: after two knee surgeries my scar looks great. He is so thoughtful and empathetic; he always listens, never dismisses or interrupts and I so deeply appreciate that. I wish there were more physicians out there like him; thank you Dr. Costa for making a very difficult and dark time in my life more tolerable and being the ray of sunshine your patients need you to be. You are absolutely an angel and this hospital is lucky to have you.

3 months agoMeaford hospital has ALWAYS been great to deal with, but whatever doctor they had working through the day in Emerg this past Monday was shockingly the rudest, most uncaring and dismissive doctor I’ve EVER dealt with. I hope he does NOT further pursue a career in healthcare - or any form of “customer service” for that matter!!

10 months agoI was scheduled for surgery and my paper said 1130. I got a call at about 940 the morning of and was told the surgeon was “way ahead of schedule” and was asked to be at the hospital for 1030 and that it didn’t make sense that I was scheduled for surgery at 1130 and to be there for 1130 so it would be great if I could come for 1030. I got to the hospital at about 1020 and registered. Was taken back and hooked up to IV and all that.. and then I waited, and waited and waited. I finally asked someone after over 2 hours of waiting when my surgery was and they said it wasn’t for at least another hour.. when I told them I was called to come in early they told me “maybe they thought someone wasn’t showing up”… an hour later and I still hadn’t gone in for surgery. I’ve had a lot of surgeries and I’ve never in my life had to wait over 3 hours to have a scheduled surgery done. Not only does it affect me, but also the person who has to drive me as they are wasting their day for a completely disorganized process. Very unimpressed

11 months agoI am happy everytime I go to emergency room with my kids or for my self. We are seen very quickly and blood work and x ray even ultrasounds are done relatively quick. The doctors are amazing and answer all your questions and the nurses are so polite and respectful. I love living in meaford and having this hospital close.
