Nurse Betsy is one of the best nurse I encounter since I became a mom, she is caring and have a lot of knowledge, but the most important thing is how he treat my son. I think a found a good place to take my kid when he gets sick. Thank you Betsy and all the nurses staff who were wonderful too.

Words cannot express the amazing location, staff, and convenience of this urgent care center. The office is very clean the staff are very friendly. Special thanks to Megan and Hannah, who looked after our 4 year old very attentively. Thank you, Nicklaus Children’s team, for having a family oriented and inviting place to take our little ones.

I arrived at the Urgent Care Center at 7:55 PM and spoke to a receptionist. My daughter needed a chest x-ray and her pediatrician wrote a prescription for her to obtain a chest x-ray, which I handed to the receptionist. He then called the radiologist to ask if he would do the x-ray and said “it’s up to you.” The radiologist declined to do the x-ray because it was after 8:00 PM, despite the urgent care being open until 10:00 PM. They refused to give my daughter the care she needed because of an undisclosed policy saying they couldn’t do x-rays after 8:00 PM even though we arrived before 8:00 PM.

Changing my review because my last experience was a total waste of time and money: Dissapointed in the nurse practioner that saw my daughter. She went in because she had neck pain behind her ear and I was told she had a swollen lymph node but they didn’t do any type of testing at all. I was told “it could be anything” and to monitor. The following day she started with recurring high fevers reaching 103 and ended up taking her to the ER. Wasted my time and money at this place, very incompetent.

On the evening of September 5, 2023, a sense of concern weighed heavily on our hearts as my wife and I decided to rush our 8-month-old daughter to Nicklaus Children's West Bird. It had been a challenging week for our family as we were all grappling with a stubborn cold that had taken hold of our household. As first-time parents, we were particularly anxious about our little one's well-being, and when her condition started to worsen, we knew it was time to seek urgent medical attention. With our daughter bundled up, we made the short journey to the hospital, which was just a five-minute drive from our home. We arrived at 6 pm, hoping for swift and professional care at an establishment with a reputed name in pediatric healthcare. However, our optimism quickly dwindled as minutes turned into hours, and we found ourselves in an agonizing state of uncertainty. Despite the urgency of our daughter's condition, we were still waiting at 9:30 pm without any sign of a doctor being assigned to her case. The atmosphere in the waiting room was heavy with anxiety, and it was evident that many other families were facing the same frustrating wait. Feeling helpless and desperate, we reluctantly made the decision to sign an Against Medical Advice (AMA) form and leave the hospital. It was a heartbreaking choice to make, but it seemed that the hospital's system had failed us, and we couldn't allow our daughter's health to continue deteriorating in such an environment. As we walked away from Nicklaus Children's West Bird, we couldn't help but feel a profound disappointment and sadness. We had hoped to rely on this seemingly reputable urgent care facility, especially given its proximity to our home. However, the wait and lack of timely medical attention had shattered our trust. It is with a heavy heart that we share this experience, hoping that our story serves as a reminder of the importance of timely and compassionate care for families, especially when it involves the well-being of our precious little ones. We dearly wish that no other family has to endure the ordeal that we faced that evening, and we sincerely hope that Nicklaus Children's West Bird takes steps to address the shortcomings we encountered during our visit.
