The worker was so unsupportive and stressed me out that I ended up in hospital in emergency and missed a potential job interview. Worker intimates me so I can't express how I really feel or get proper help with your problems. The workers are just parrots that say scripted lines learned in school. Also they have no life experience so can't relate and will offend u without even being aware of it. I avoid the worker as much as possible bc how horrible of a job she did. I can't believe she gets paid even when I've stopped seeing her.
The therapist I was paired with didn’t take me seriously and not experienced enough. She cancelled on me last moment on Friday saying she leaves early on Friday and she can’t make it anymore. I didn’t believe her and I feel like she made an excuse just because it’s Friday. I was really disappointed that I cancelled her. I can’t take her seriously she’s bad at her job especially when she sounds like she’s in her early 30s or late 20s. I definitely prefer someone more experienced with a better pedigree.
I'd give it 0 stars if that option existed. This agency clearly lacks an ability to answer phonecalls and/or return messages. Weeks of attempts to set something up have been met with silence and zero response. It has been extremely challenging to have anyone answer a phone. I honestly believe that this office is vacant most of the time. The Ministry of Health, who funds this organization, need to be made aware of the lack of service being shown here. Don't waste your time with leaving messages on these phantom voicemails that never get returned.
Pros:
-Some of the 'clinicians' know what they are doing. Most don't (too young and inexperienced)
-Services are government covered
-They have a few group optionsCons;
-Horrifically under-funded..they must not be meeting their numbers or something and getting the plug pulled...
-Poorly managed
-Very very dated approach. Not harm reduction. Addiction focused without looking at the big picture
After almost a decade within PAARC as a client, I have always been treated with respect and can't think of anything negative to say about these people and the programs/overall help they have to offer. Have always been more than impressed by all the support each staff member, whether personal worker or otherwise, has extended.
