My 83 yr old father has stayed here for rehab after sickness/hospitalization 3 times now. We have always been very pleased with his care. Each time he has recovered and been able to return home. EVERYONE we have had contact with has been super nice and helpful, they really care about the people.

I've been assisting my 96-year-old friend here for several years. It's very clean unless a rare "accident" happens, and it's taken care of ASAP. I also have another friend who rehabbed from surgery here. The only minor issue is the blandness of the food. They have a variety activities, hair salon, and for those who want their nails done, there's a schedule where someone comes around to the rooms to take off the old and put on the new. Most of the staff are pleasant and hardworking.

Looks like a nice place. It is modern and new looking inside. We went in to pick someone up. The staff we met in the short time were very nice and helpful. They apparently had trouble getting the patient from the hospital on time, costing the client another days stay in the hospital. Seemed a little disorganized on the top end...

My mom was there about 4 weeks. I only experienced the rehab side of things. I have no experience with long-term care. I’d give them a B-, 3.75/4 out of 5, depending on the day.The staff in physical and speech therapy, as well as her main day nurse, and the director of dietary – all of them made her stay a success as well as bearable. The facility itself – clean. The rooms are nice and big, since rehabbers get them as a single. I bought a Glade plug-in and kept Febreze in the room 24/7. Several staff that came through always made comments about how good it smelled. Housekeeping overall was kind of spotty. One lady barely swept the room but then another man scrubbed the whole room down. Impossible to track down washcloths and towels.First impressions were pretty meh. Upon arrival on a Sat afternoon - Mom told me that she had laid there with no interaction from anyone. The EMTs brought her in, a nurse and maybe a CNA were in there to get her on her bed, and after that nothing for about two hours. Her supper was brought after I had left for the evening and the person said “You’ll be excited, it’s pizza night” – which meant a cold square of school pizza and some pieces of lettuce. Breakfast wasn’t much better, and it was cold. In fact, her meals were consistently cold, and the food people or her nurse would go warm it up before bringing it, after she had to ask every time. After talking to the director of dietary, this was rectified.First weekend was rough and short staffing issues really showed. I had to call the facility that second night of her stay because my mom had called me at home – she had been lying in her pee for over 2.5 hours, and no one had answered when she pressed the button nor come around on rounds. It was later discovered that the cord/button was faulty. Ended up one of the nurses just went and grabbed a cord/button from another room and rewired it herself. Still, most times there was a longer than acceptable wait time for a response. Most negative experiences were on the weekend nights. Had several instances of rude/uncaring staff (mostly same person) as well as ignored wound care instructions. This was addressed by management.By the time she left, the issues that had first colored my opinion had been resolved. My biggest negative I have is with Saber, the corp that owns Davie Rehab. In the immediate days/weeks after my mom left the facility, Saber’s corporate greed was fully on display. Their billing model is predatory. They bill before filing with insurance, hoping that you’ll freak out and pay. The local facility business manager also sends out a form letter, which reflected what ended up being the final amount. I spoke with the business manager and told her nothing would be paid until a final invoice reflecting the post insurance amount came, as well as seeing evidence of it being filed with insurance. She said she would note the account. But then two days before finally getting that final invoice, my mom received another letter from the facility with the business manager’s name attached containing language that Saber had made repeated effort to collect (which was a lie) and threat of legal action was also on the table. Really?TL; DR – While at times it is consistently inconsistent and the corporate parent only cares about money and not people, I’d still recommend Davie Rehab.

Housekeeping is the lowest rung in the ladder here, they catch so much flak for literally just doing their job! I’ve never seen nursing staff AND administrators treat the people that make their building look better, so horrible. They’re the worst paid, and they don’t get ANY benefits compared to literally any other department in the entire facility. If nurses gets PAID maternity leave (and more than half of them don’t even do their job properly), housekeeping should too!! Do better for your employees and I promise the employees will do better for you.
