I was having hip pain in that part of the bone that sticks out to the side (like what you lie on when you lie on your side). and I could only limp, not walk. It came on very suddenly one evening, seemingly out of nowhere while I was sitting in a chair, and was just as painful all the next day. I thought, I will buy Marek's hip course. If it works, it will save me a lot of time as my nearest Feldenkrais practitioner is 2 hours away and I need to get someone to drive me there. That is a lot of man-hours and gasoline! Plus it would probably be days or a week before I could see her.I went online and purchased your Happy Hips course. I had access to the course instantly (no two hour drive) and did the first anatomy lesson. After that, my hip was already improved. Right after the anatomy lesson I did the movement lesson and after that I could walk normally with just a small amount of discomfort!--I believe the discomfort at that point was some residual inflammation. By the next day I was totally better and have been since!Thank you so much! You are truly an excellent teacher! I feel that your understanding of anatomy and how you explain it really helps the movement lessons be so much more meaningful--potent!
I am currently taking my second online course with Marek. I love how he combines awareness and anatomy; the combination of his Physiotherapy and Feldenkrais training is just what my system needs! I wish I lived in NYC so I could see Marek in person.
Yes, come practice and learn here! I had two hip surgeries and was in daily pain until I started working with Marek and Valerie a year ago. Their treatments, lessons, and guidance have helped me transform my body and relationship to it. My pain flare-ups are now rare, and when they happen I am more trusting that the pain will pass. Because of the Feldenkrais method, I’m also living a more present, embodied life.I’m smiling writing this review — I feel so grateful and warm about this place. Many thanks to the whole thoughtful and talented Physical Therapy & Feldenkrais NYC team.
I found the posture extension course very beneficial to me. The course is very well constructed with a full weekly live lesson and daily short sessions to fully integrate the movements into your body. Lifetime access means that I can return to the course whenever I need to in the future. Marek is a great teacher, giving theory and then practical as well as q and a after the live sessions.
Marek brings a very powerful combination of medical and somatic approaches to his teaching. Giving an anatomical and biomechanical introduction prior to walking lessons went a long way with me. As a Feldenkrais practitioner I've long felt that our professional training programs lack a solid grounding in basic anatomy. As a physical threrapist and Feldenkrais practitioner, Marek's perfectly suited to bridge that gap, and does so with great clarity. His lessons are equally suitable for members of the general public who have no experience of the Feldenkrais approach.
