I cannot comment on the level of care offered at Kindred Harbor because these folks took weeks to respond to my initial intake, and I moved on to another, more responsive therapy group. After the initial intake with Jennifer (who is amazing) I waited through the Thanksgiving holiday and remained patient as I’m sure most therapeutic offices are busier during the holiday season. Two weeks later, still no response from Kindred Harbor even after reaching out to Jennifer twice to see what the status of my intake was. A simple email or phone call stating “we are working on it” or some acknowledgment of receiving my intake and working to match me with a therapist would have been acceptable and given me the assurance that progress was being made.
Over three weeks after the initial intake I finally get a call from someone wanting to schedule, unfortunately I’ve already moved on to a more professional group who respond appropriately and move the process forward with adequate communication and care.
Kindred Harbor is one of the warmest and most accepting mental health clinics I've ever come in contact with. My therapist, Taj, is a caring and genuine human being as well as extremely intelligent and knowledgeable regarding her profession. She helped me by uncovering issues that others had missed for years. I am so happy I found them! 5 stars!
I love how they tell you one price of their services and then months after you've had numerous sessions they bill you a totally different price. In the beginning I felt confident since they said my insurance covered all sessions. the guy on the phone said he checked my insurance and that everything would be free. They also had a matching process to a therapist which I liked. However after a some sessions I decided to discontinue therapy with this therapist since I wasn't feeling heard and my concerns were no longer being addressed. About 5 months later I got a huge bill saying it needed to be paid in 1 month. I would not recommend this company.
As a client of Kindred Harbor, I am very impressed by the professionalism of the staff. Dr. ‘Taj’ is an amazing clinician who knows mental/Behavioral health issues and has an abundance of skills and resources to mold the treatment to suit each patient individual needs. I would recommend Kindred Harbor to anyone. Also having a therapist of Color is a new experience for me and I’m amazed at how many things I don’t have to explain culturally.
I've been a patient at Kindred Harbor Behavioral Health for two years. I was recommended to try therapy services at Kindred by my former primary physician. My outlook on my future, my relationship to addiction, and my desire to live have all been fundamentally altered for the best by my decision to continue to see my Kindred Harbor Behavioral Health therapist. I cannot promise that you will find the therapist of your dreams at Kindred; I can promise that you will be closer to actualizing your mental health goals.
