Have used Rome Va Clinic for about 30 years. I have always been treated by friendly staff and feel very well taken care of. I’ve been referred to Syracuse Va if it has been necessary. A very caring clinic! That goes for Syracuse Va Hospital also!

WORST VA I have ever dealt with. Throughout my military career I had zero issues getting my medications. Discharged in El Paso, TX and I had zero issue receiving my medications from the VA. Moved to Wilmington, NC and I had zero issues receiving my medications from the VA. I move to Utica, NY and I have to jump through hoops and over hurdles to get my medications. The Rome VA clinic has the WORST healthcare system I have ever seen.

I have been using the VA in Rome since the base closed. At first I thought it was excellent, but lately I've changed my estimate. It seems that to assist a vet is out of the minds of the doctors at this facility. Secure messaging goes no where! It seems that the response to my messages falls on deaf ears. What happened to Veterans Choice? I went from being able to see a local diabetic doctor to having a consult in Syracuse! This must make sense to someone but not to a cancer patient. I must be the only person having a problem.

Been waiting to be seen by doctor for over an hr, I am the only one in waiting area, seen other staff from different areas leave for the day, and closing time is almost here. Finally been seen. Very unsatisfied. As well with any paperwork I turned in that needed to be done still hasn’t been taken care of since 4 months ago. Had to turn those in again because it got lost by the VA.

I am a former ET2, CTM2, US Navy intelligence, Gulf Wartime Service medal recipient, Good Conduct medal recipient and Sharp Shooter. I am proud to pronounce that and I am prouder yet of the professionals st this VA facility. They do not have to take walk-ins. It is not an urgent care facility and technically, if you can believe it, I am suppose to go to SYRACUSE for urgent care! Absurd for sure. But Dr. Pitel, my primary at the facility and her team, knew that I do not visit them often enough and if I was there, something was wrong! They took me in, got my xrays, blood work & other labwork, EKG, and more within two hours AND on their lunch. I could not have been more pleased with my VA healthcare on this day! This was a great day for me and a testament to our countries commitment to the veterans.
