Dr. Matthew Epstein, DDS

I was referred to Dr. Epstein for time-critical oral surgery to be cleared for orthopedic surgery. He promptly assembled my imagery, examined the affected tooth and gum area, and set me up for a procedure within a week. I deeply appreciate his sharpness and focus.

I was so anxious about my oral surgery but my experience with Dr. Epstein and all the staff exceeded my expectations. All of them were so kind and took care of me from the get go. The surgery itself went so well, I experienced no discomfort or pain. I was so surprised. I recommend Dr. Epstein without any reservations.

The staff at the Greenlake dental office were all welcoming and friendly. The whole experience was far less stressful than I had expected, thanks greatly to the supportive care from the dental assistant and the dentist, both of whom answered my questions and were very careful. They were very professional and the assistant in particular was pleasant and very helpful. The result seems excellent to me. Thank you!

The medical procedure, extraction of wisdom teeth, went smoothly. The medical staff was friendly and professional. The surgery went well, as did the healing process. No issues there. However, dealing with billing has been problematic. A month after the surgery, I started receiving requests for additional payments. The amount of additional payments requested keeps changing. I understand that sometimes insurance doesn't pay what was expected, but the multiple changes in charges are concerning. Also, I highly recommend getting an itemized estimate and an itemized list of what the insurance will cover. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and did not follow up on all the details. Now I am stuck with charges for almost $400 for blood platelates (for faster healing and not covered by my insurance) and over $100 for antibiotics used during surgery. If I had known the price upfront, I probably would have passed on those treatments. Antibiotics were prescribed post surgery anyway. The patient has to sign that they will pay the bills. The doctor's office should also have to sign that the charges will stay close to what was projected and when they offer extra services, they should disclose the price at the same time.

Dr. Epstein's office works like a well-oiled machine. His dental assistant was very personable and gave me all of the information I needed before getting my wisdom tooth pulled. Even though the tooth was broken, Dr. Epstein easily and painlessly removed it after giving me an almost painless local anesthetic.
