Physio care was excellent. Exercises explained & practiced. If I required visual, then she filmed the exercise on my cell. Reception were considerate when I had to make changes with my appointments. Thank you

I’ve been having pain in my wrists and arm from computer and camera work. I can typically make it go away on my own but I exhausted everything my Dr and I could think of so she sent me to Dr Ho at Athlete’s Care Sports Medicine on King. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. Dr Ho sent me for X-rays and an ultrasound next door to see what was going on and was able to diagnose the issue. Since I am low income at the moment he was able to recommend a student clinic for physiotherapy which is only approximately $30 a visit (vs $100+ for private). I appreciate that the pain was taken seriously and that I’m on the way to a solution!! I’m adding pics for directions from the subway Line 1

I went to this clinic for custom orthotics and left feeling so uncomfortable. The male chiropractor began the appointment making comments about my appearance - questioning if I was "being serious" when I told him my age because he thought I 'looked younger". I do not take this as a compliment and in any case don't appreciate being complimented on my appearance when I am in a medical appointment which has nothing to do with how I look. I responded "why would I lie about that" to which he responded "You have a more youthful appearance and I would have never guessed". We begin talking about the issues I am facing and he asks me to sit on the bed and assesses my feet. He then asks me to stand up and walk back and forth down the hallway. I check "without my shoes?" and he confirms. I think I was a little stiff because the carpet seemed dirty and I did not love the idea of walking on it with my bare feet. But I did begin walking and as soon as I had my back turned away from him walking in the opposite direction he remarks "You're so self-conscious". I say "I am not self conscious" and then he proceeds to tell me how I am appearing that way and he needs to see how I walk normally so that he can make an accurate assessment. I said "This has nothing to do with my confidence level so can we please keep the discussion about my feet". This was the second arbitrary comment he made which had nothing to do with my foot pain. After this part of the assessment is complete he then asks me to lie face down on the bed which I felt so uncomfortable doing after our last exchange. He aggressively pulls my legging up at the ankles without asking for consent or any warning which was surprising considering I was face down and could not see what he was doing. He could have TOLD me what he was going to do AND asked for consent before adjusting my clothing and touching my bare skin - especially since my back was facing him and I couldn't see what he was about to do. I felt the way he moved my leggings was aggressive and I was unsure as to why he could not assess over my leggings. I have also been a clinician, a former social worker, and I understand that making patients feel comfortable is an important part of care. I felt this person had a complete lack of regard for my comfort and was inappropriate and I would not recommend this experience to anyone.

I waited almost two months for an appointment with Dr. Ho. Upon arrival, the front desk staff gave me assessment forms to fill out and directed me to a room to wait for the doctor. When Dr. Ho arrived, he immediately spoke in a rude tone, saying I should have completed the forms online and warned that if I didn’t confirm future appointments via email, they would be canceled. He also stated that this issue would result in my appointment being shorter. I calmly acknowledged his comments without reacting further. After spending about 10 minutes with Dr. Ho, I went back to the front desk to share my experience. The staff checked my information and confirmed that my email address was incorrectly entered in their system, which explained why I hadn’t received any emails. I then requested to be referred to a different doctor, as I no longer felt comfortable seeing Dr. Ho. The receptionist informed me that I would need to reapply, and I agreed to do so without hesitation.

The staff at Athlete’s Care are friendly and professional. My physiotherapist Victoria DiSabatino did an amazing job getting my knee back to normal. She is a good listener, asked the right questions, and developed a recovery plan for me. I would recommend Victoria and Athlete’s Care to anyone needing physiotherapy treatment.
