a month agoThe worst hospital I’ve ever been to. The ‘Emergency’ department is a complete joke. I was brought in by the police because I ran away from home during a psychotic episode—I was hearing many voices, experiencing sudden mood swings, and having intense suicidal thoughts. Not only did they do nothing to help calm me down, but they also sent me back home.I repeatedly told them I didn’t feel safe at home because the voices were tormenting me, but they didn’t care. They referred me to their ridiculous bridging clinic, which months earlier had also told me not to come back because the program only lasted three months. In the end, they just gave me a bunch of sedatives and sent me home. When I refused to leave, they had security violently throw me out. One of their guards even stuck his hand down my pants to give me a wedgie. I ended up passing out on the street from all the medication they gave me, and my belongings were stolen.

2 months agoI was referred from a doctor to the team to help me figure out a diagnosis and medication. After they rescheduled with me once I tried to enter the meeting at the time of my appointment via the email instructions. It said I would be able to enter their web ex platform from their “join meeting” button on their website. It then took me over 5 minutes to be certain that none of the emails “Brenda” sent me had a meeting number…even though the instructions said I could enter this way. I then proceeded to call 3 times with no answer. The doctor emailed me saying I was not allowed to see him again or reschedule. When talking to Brenda on the phone she did not believe me, did not treat me with the proper care a person dealing with vulnerable people should and did not offer any kind of sympathy. Meanwhile I’ve been waiting months to see these people.

2 months agoI wish to express my profound concern regarding the dismissive, condescending, and rude behaviour exhibited by the individual with whom I communicated at the Emergency Room call center, who refused to provide their name and ended the call because I asked them to treat me with respect and dignity. As a mental health practitioner, I find it troubling that my patients and clients may encounter such treatment from employees during some of the most vulnerable periods of their lives. Moreover, I contacted the donation department to withdraw my contributions and explained my reasons for this decision. Regrettably, the representative demonstrated a lack of interest and dismissed my concerns regarding the withdrawal. This organization operates on donations and is supported by OHIP, funded by our province. It is unacceptable for employees to speak condescendingly to the individuals who financially support them, particularly those at high risk and in vulnerable situations. Kindness should fundamentally be a priority in an organization of this nature.I am deeply disappointed with the conduct displayed by this hospital and will endeavor to advocate for my clients by directing them to alternative resources to shield them from such behavior.Shame on you CAMH.

3 months agoHORRIBLE place for seeking help with alcohol addiction. This placeactually sets you up for failure. And the RUDEST Volunteers I've ever met. Specially the ones sent to ajax to raise money. I would never donate to a group that banks off of the mentally ill. And yes as a 5 year sober person I once seeked help from them and left after 24hours of being un attended to feeling worse then when i went in and the lack of safety for women is disgusting. Like most rehabs they favour the men. If you want a caffeine and nicotine addiction I highly recommend this place. If I could give this place negative stars I would.

a month agoCannot really. Picture it. Year 2018. Went in on Halloween. MY décision. Have a problem with alcohol and codeine .Was there for the codeine part. And YES, that succeeded. I have been codeine fres for 6 years. Otherwise, I almost lost my mind in that place. Was given Suɓoxone. Became delusional; mostly auditory but also some visual hallucinations. I WOULD RATHER DIE than go there again. They don't believe anything that you say because you are presumed to be an addict wanting to go out and USE again I just wanted to spend an evening with my CATS No one believed me so I left Queen St BEFORE I was supposed to. Nrver mind...just DO NOT RECOMMEND for anyone who desires to remain sane.
