Went in here after experiencing an episode of going unconscious. I waited 10 hours, having to sit in a uncomfortable chair the entire time, started to fall asleep and was hungry too. Saw two others leave during my 10 hour wait from frustration. New Years Eve and they had one Doctor working. The girls in Triage were extremely nice though, can't say enough about that. But the problem is one Doctor on. They listed Unconsciouness on their TV screen, as a level 2 - emergency. An Emergency should not take 10 hours to get an answer. I left without an answer. Had a blood test done half hour after arriving, was told it might be maybe 1 hour to get back to me. Then 9 and 1/2 hours more pass, and no still answer. If I could have layed down it would have been different. I will call my Doctor and try and arrange something. Cause not even on a good day would I want to sit in a uncomfortable chair for 10 hours, not being able to leave to eat something. Should never have taken this long, those other two people that left, left without an answer too. I don't blame them at that point honestly.. It's discouraging.
Please go to any other hospital or healthcare provider than here.My brother was misdiagnosed with GI tract issues and appendicitis on 3 separate occasions. My grandmother was never diagnosed properly which led to a quick deterioration and untimely death. My mother forced to sit on a stretcher in a hallway with a badly broken leg for over 36hrs because they don’t have an orthopedic surgeon onsite and no one could figure out how and when to transfer her to new Glasgow. Went longs periods without food on the first day. Once she was finally transferred on night two, new Glasgow informed her she was scheduled for her surgery that night only to find out Truro had given her food when they shouldn’t have. They also didn’t give her anything for the swelling so when she got to new Glasgow they had to start a new treatment and further push the surgery.Absolute gross incompetence and lack of care. I understand being understaffed but I can’t understand how there are this many mistakes over and over. Unacceptable.
I was referred from Amherst to Dr.Morris . I was down 3 times and every time was A1 service all the nursing staff everyone I interacted with was amazing . I can’t thank them all enough for the great care and service I received !!
Completely unnacceptable Blood Collection setup I have an appointment at 7 I'm there by 645 registered by 655 and here it is 810 and I haven't been drawn and I'm 5 people away from getting in and there's a boat load of people in the area waiting to be taken in.
I lived in Colchester county since 1993, I have witnessed such an improvement over the years at this hospital. I hear on the news of the horror stories from the other provinces, there is no comparison, the staff in our Health Center go out of their way to make our visits there as short and comfortable as possible, I had 4 different appointments this week alone and I spent at most 20 minutes in the hospital at any time. I think the people in Truro are truly blessed. Of course there are times when there's an overflow of cases sitting in Emerge, but that is to be expected, after all we only have so many nurses, technicians and doctors in the area and they need time off like anybody else. I want to thank all the staff that work in that facility.
