After more than 5 concussions I have PCS (post-concussion syndrome) making me extremely sensitive to ligh, sound, and unable to perform many daily tasks or read or write fluently. I'm a PhD student so this is how I get paid. My sleep was also very affected and I was using the wrong words for things. HBOT significantly improved my symptoms. I was slowly able to read again and my sleep significantly improved. I found sound and light somewhat more tolerable. It definitely sped up my recovery which can take years for severe PCS. HBOT is an evidence backed option. I used 2.0 pressure for 60 minutes for 20 sessions as my doctor prescribed it for my case. Hyperbaric treatment is expensive but at hospitals it is extortionate. I was told I would have to pay 4,000$ per session for the 20 sessions my doctor prescribed at DC hospitals. I was also told that HBOT outside hosptial is unsafe because 100% pure oxygen is so flamable, which is true. I have insurance but more insurances do not cover HBOT specifically for tramatic brain injuries although they do for other conditions. This clinic, integrative hyperbarics, was a life saver: the treatment was safe, professional and significantly more affordable. I would recommmend it to anyone in the same position. If you're worried about safety, the team is very well trained and careful in administering the HBOT. Despite my initial worries I knew I was safe.

My wife had radiation treatment from breast cancer 15 years ago. She was able to get HBOT for pain caused by the cancer treatment. She is also experiencing memory loss and we were hoping for improvement there too. Today, there’s no pain from the radiation treatment. We believe my wife’s memory loss might be due to extreme heavy metal toxicity which her test results show. The staff at Integrative Hyperbaric are all wonderful people who truly care about you and your health. They don’t pressure you at all; they leave all the pressuring to the hyperbaric chambers :-) and the truth is, we love Calista and the others sooo much! They’re always friendly and helpful. I can’t thank them enough for all they’ve done for us. We chose this clinic because it was the only one that does HBOT with the proper equipment for our needs. They use hard shell, medical grade chambers which can produce higher pressures than the mild hyperbaric chambers. In my humble opinion, if at all possible, this is the place to go for your hyperbaric oxygen treatment.

Integrative Hyperbaric Oxygen ReviewHello, my name is Bruce, and I had a right below-knee amputation in December 2021. After not healing because of an infection, I was referred to Georgetown Medical Center in June 2023, where I had a revision surgery. After walking with a prosthetic, my wound reopened in October 2023. My surgeon advised me to get hyperbaric oxygen therapy to see if that would help heal my wound. After contacting several facilities who had no appointments, I finally found Integrative Hyperbaric. They saw me right away, and I was receiving treatments within one week.My wound measurements at the start were 3.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide by 0.8 cm deep. My wound slowly healed from the inside out. After approximately 140 hyperbaric oxygen dives, the skin has healed, leaving a slight crevice that measures 0.7 cm long by 0.3 cm wide by 0.1 cm deep. I can now walk on my prosthetic. There is a slight opening in the crevice which will continue to heal as time goes on.For anyone thinking of getting oxygen therapy for an open wound, my suggestion is to continue to take pictures throughout this process. I never saw my progress until I started comparing the pictures I took. I took pictures every three days after cleaning the wound throughout my healing time. As you look at your progress from four or five weeks ago, you can then see how much you are actually healing. My biggest surprise during my treatments was how many people, especially medical professionals, do not know what hyperbaric oxygen therapy is and how it helps heal the human body.I want to thank Dr. Demitry, Dr. Petrie, Calista, Jay, and Nathan for all their professional help and making me feel like part of the oxygen family. They were very accommodating with my scheduling needs. Throughout my therapy, I worried a lot about the slow healing. However, they helped to keep my attitude positive and continued to explain the progress of the wound healing process.Thank you very much for treating me with this amazing therapy. I truly believe that without the oxygen therapy and Integrative Hyperbaric, my outcome might not have been as positive.Thank You, Bruce Veltre

I started using hyperbaric oxygen for treatment of long covid, first with soft chambers (1.3 ATM), then a medium chamber at a spa (concentrator/2.0), but my results were much more noticeable after doing the medical 100% oxygen hyperbaric treatment at integrative hyperbaric (2.5 ATM). It’s a family owned, small business and the attention to detail to make sure you comfortable are unlike I have seen anywhere else. Jay and Nathan are the technicians I saw and they were both great and made the whole process very easy and low stress. The pressure on my ears was somehow easier to equalize in this chamber than even lower pressure chambers I had done before, and they check in frequently and you can ask to go slower if you are worried. I already had a prescription and did cash pay so I can’t speak to the doctor there or insurance issues but I don’t think the doctor that the negative reviews mention is there anymore. Hyperbaric is an amazing therapy, I had so many improvements with energy, sleep, memory, executive function, lung function and even aesthetic things like healthier skin and my covid hair loss is much much better. I did 40 sessions then another 10 after I caught covid again in June. I have a connective tissue disorder that causes poor wound healing so I will definitely use hyperbaric if I ever have to go through a surgery again. It’s expensive if you’re not under a condition that insurance covers it but I’ve tried so many things and this was one of the few where I had very obvious improvements. There is research on hyperbaric but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be making it out to the regular medical community that it has benefits beyond diabetic foot wounds and burn treatment.

The charged me even though I told them I have two insurance companies and don’t have to pay as long as they take both. They claimed they did but required that I pay a co pay upfront. Tricare later told me this as wrong and that they violated the program. I’ve now called the company several times and they claimed they were reviewing the issue but it’s been six months and they just won’t do their job. Don’t trust they will bill correctly. I’m upset as insurance even called them months ago and they still have done nothing, seems dishonest after waiting for 8-9 months
