6 months agoWhat a lovely place. Basically like cruise ship living for the rest of your life. My parents moved in Jan. 2024, are very settled and really like it. The food is wonderful. Get a serving, want more and you can have it. Lovely 3 course dinners served at noon. Don’t like the special, order off the menu. Supper at 5:00 is more of a lunch but there is always lots of food. There is coffee, tea and snacks available all day long. There is a wide variety of activities offered throughout the day. They even have a movie theatre with popcorn. A tenant can book the room at no charge and watch any one of hundreds of movies they have available. Plenty of movies you can bring grandchildren to watch or the whole family. Bring your on movie too. A lovely kitchen if someone wants to do some baking first themselves. A recreation area. Very pleasant outdoor seating areas both front and back. Pool table. Library. Larger TV room. Free bus service to any place in Woodstock for shopping, appointments, visiting, etc. Free facilities to do laundry on each floor. Housekeeping every 2 weeks as well as your own linens are washed, returned and bed (s) made. Free tenant parking. I guess the very best thing is that my siblings and I feel our parents are well attended to and taken care of my the staff. They seem very aware of a tenant’s absence and those folks are checked on. Meals are delivered if necessary. This is not nursing care but rather caring people working there who are compassionate, thoughtful, kind and interested in the people they are serving. In addition, there are many folks who have lived there 5, 6, 7, 8 and even 9 years. So something must be working well at Cedarview.

5 months agoWe felt at home 1 month after our arrival. New friends, the staff is wonderful and so helpful. The food is excellent... . Now nearing 4 years, we still love the food and the friends we have. However, we still don't have the right management for this place, things are not quite there yet. The atmosphere is not so tense now, management is taking action, so that's good... We need to get back the joy, the love and the compassion that was once here. There is a glimmer of hope....

2 years agoMy parents moved in 10 days ago, the staff was very friendly to me as i was helping to move in some articles. I was impressed by the security and the access card system. There was someone near the front door always to let me in. My first impression was that the place look looked like an island resort. Very clean, staff dressed in suit and ties. Covid rules were strictly enforced. I met the 3rd floor room cleaner and she was awesome, offered guidance and assistance. I asked for a few minor repairs to be done to the room before parents moved in and it got done. So far my parents love the place and the food. They love the amenities as well and my dad can grab a burger anytime he wants, he likes that. Good luck Mom and Dad, you deserve it.My parents went home after a couple of months. My mom said she would go back possibly one day.

10 months agoMy mother has been there for 4 years. It was a very nice friendly place then. Now the management has changed. Cutting back on personnel, constantly making changes which only confuses the residents! The food is disgusting!! I wouldn’t even feed some of it to my dog!! They seem to only care about the money and not the people!! Very disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Looking for a new place!!

3 years agoWe just moved my 95 yr old mother and 94 yr old step-father into Cedarview retirement home in Woodstock. Our initial impressions are that the staff and managers (Barb and Keith, and Craig and Elaina) go out of their way to be welcoming, and are very professional and considerate especially given the special logistics required to undertake such a move during pandemic restrictions. My Mom is thrilled with their new space, making new friends through the residence activities, and the food!…my sisters and I get daily electronic updates (several a day sometimes) about what wonderful meals she’s had, the fresh fruit, and so many choices. She’s put on a freshman pound in the first week, but at 95 we tell her to enjoy it all and have seconds if she wants to. With no more cooking, cleaning or rural solitude to put up with, my mother’s outlook has blossomed and we hope the care that Cedarview has demonstrated so far will continue. If my Mom stays as happy as she seems now, I’ll be back in a few months to give you that 5th star!
